Junior Medical Writer

London, England, United Kingdom | Full-time

The Havas Lynx Group is a global healthcare communications group – with UK offices in Manchester and London. The majority of the work we do is within the healthcare and wellness sector. Across our offices we have a multidisciplinary team of almost 450 people who collaborate to produce global campaigns that aim to enhance people’s lives – whether that is by empowering patients to understand their treatment options, providing a range of support to carers or educating Healthcare Professionals to make the most effective treatment decisions possible.

We're happy to be seeking a Junior Medical to join our London-based team who, as part of this, will secure a place on our 2020 Graduate Programme. We really believe in investing in talent and ensuring people are consistently adding to their experience and skill set – you can read more about the Graduate Programme at our website www.havaslynx.com

We are looking for someone with a Life Sciences background who wants to use their degree in a creative way – if you worry medical writing is unexciting, then working for an agency will be the perfect choice for you as, for this role, you need to think outside of the box and tell a story with your writing. At the Havas Lynx Group, we connect healthcare professionals and patients with the knowledge, tools and services they need to better achieve their goals. You can expect to get involved producing high quality medical education and communications materials for the pharmaceutical industry and other healthcare bodies – as well as patient facing materials that help simplify the science, meaning people can better understand their condition and the options available to them for treatment. As part of your role you will research, write, edit and proof copy to the highest standard. By working alongside more Senior Writers and liaising with other internal teams you will develop your writing style and learn to create engaging content for many different platforms. You can expect to see your copy used on websites, applications and also in print form, using your passion for all things scientific and creative, working across a variety of different therapy areas, utilising the research skills you have acquired during your studies.

We'd hope that you're enthusiastic and ready for a busy and responsible role. You will become one of over 200 graduates who have joined the Havas Lynx Group to commence their careers. We place a great deal of focus on the development of our people, supporting you and providing ample opportunity to advance. We offer two invaluable internal training programmes at Lynx, the #LXAcademy and, as previously mentioned, the Graduate Programme. You can view more information via the blog area of our website.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a Life Science degree (2:1 classification or higher)
  • Be able to demonstrate a genuine interest and ability in scientific and creative writing
  • Have a passion to work in healthcare and produce creative and engaging communication
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail
  • Display very strong organisational and time management skills
  • Be professional, approachable and confident in sharing their ideas
  • A team player with excellent initiative and problem-solving skills
